“having or showing feelings of unwarranted importance out of overbearing pride”

“When men are most sure and arrogant they are commonly most mistaken, giving views to passion without that proper deliberation which alone can secure them from the grossest absurdities” – David Hume

Above is pictured James O’Keefe, the mild, (not) mannered, (not) guerrilla “journalist.” He is famous for his sting operations, in the service of the right-wing radio types, exposing problems at Planned Parenthood and ACORN. Apparently, the problems with the aforementioned organizations are that they have employed some really stupid people. I mean, the pimp outfit? Really, anonymous ACORN employees? Some guy walks in your office in a white, suburban, pimp Halloween costume, and you don’t wet your pants laughing? Looks like he got it at Spencer’s gifts. Right next to the “Hillbilly” and “Drug Dealer” costumes. Only thing he’s missing is blackface.

But, the ACORN debacle is old-news. The PP and ACORN scams brought him atta boys from his evil overlords, and eager to duplicate his success, he took on a new project: go to a Congresswoman’s office and try to catch them doing something embarrassing on tape. And he was arrested for “entering federal property under false pretenses with the intent of committing a felony.” At least a couple of his cohorts were wearing their “Repairman” costumes. (What, you never dressed up as a Sears repairman for Halloween? I did. The next year I was a Meter Reader. Good times, good times.)

Facing ten years in prison has not dimmed the light that is James O’Keefe. No sir. He does admit that he “could have used a different approach to this investigation, particularly given the sensitivities that people understandably have about security in a federal building.” You think, you witless puppet?

Keep tuned, though. I’ve heard a rumor that his next target is MSNBC. He’s going to get an “Ultra-liberal, Feminist, Brainiac, Butch Lesbian” costume and infiltrate. Oh, wait.

  1. What a twerp. The kid is a long way from being a conservative Michael Moore, that's for sure.

  2. Amen to that, K.! I couldn't be more pleased with ConchExPat's topic for her first guest blog here at Momma Politico. "Twerp" is the exact word I used when The Hubby and I first heard the story. He looks about 16, and is acting like a college frat boy out to pledge the GOP. So glad CEP nailed this kid dead to rights!

  3. Great job, CEP! And many thanks for your contribution! I have been wanting to blog about this very topic…apparently the GOP is now so desperate that they have resorted to "sending a boy out to do a man's job." Amazing. And I gotta love how you tied in our fave newsgal into the story – impressive! Funny and sharp. Thanks again – hope you'll join me for another post soon!

  4. MP, thanks for letting me horn in on your action. And I always find a way to have Maddow make a cameo. I think we're not far from having a Rachel Maddow costume available: glasses, black blazer, and your own colorful sneakers. Then put a severe part in your hair, add product, and off you go with your little messenger bag to collect the goodies. Last Halloween I was trying to find anyone with a little kid who would let me makeover their child in her image. No takers. Just a couple of restraining orders.

  5. Damn, you bring the funny, Girlfriend! LOL! You are welcome to bring your axe to grind over here anytime. Good to have ya aboard. Thanks again for the great post.

  6. I guess he borrowed the old play book from 60 minutes. They stopped doing guerrilla journalism years ago. However, they also never committed a felony while getting the story. Our guy James O'Keefe appears to be a frustrated director and likes to manipulate the news in order to fulfill his artistic vision, which requires a better color contrast, as his clips are heavily tinted red.

  7. I think he should just join the local community college A/V club. With his experience, they'd probably even make him vice-president of the club! Great point, Lauren – no felonies for the true guerrilla filmmakers…good to have you here-thanks for the comment.

  8. Happy Sunday,I posted a rant on CBS's airing of the pro-life ad during the Super Bowl. I hope my post isn't a piece of crap. I posted it fairly quickly. It was just something I felt had to be said right away.

  9. Will check it out, Lauren. Almost went that direction myself…am facing a humongous writer's block…hate that. Maybe you'll inspire me!

Welcome

I refuse to cave to a minivan. I am still a tomboy - comfortable in Levi's, my Yankees cap and Converse. And I always have a political opinion...hell, I always have an opinion, period. The hubby, my kids and my friends think I should run for office. Maybe one day. But for now, Momma Politico blogs. Peruse, enjoy, and know that our busy lives are as significant as those in The Washington Post. Cheers, Heidi Haines AKA Perry MacNeil Momma Politico
