This letter will be sent to President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. It demands that the church stop using its tax exempt status to meddle in politics.

Greetings,

The United States taxpayers generously subsidize not-for-profit religious organizations by granting them the privilege of tax exempt status. However, the Internal Revenue Code clearly states that this extremely generous exemption from taxation is predicated upon the religious organization not politicizing its own religious beliefs, not attempting to directly influence law and government policy, and not using its status as a religious organization to circumscribe the Constitutional freedoms of American citizens.
